On September 24, the St. Olaf Education Department sponsored an Instructional Technology Panel Discussion for current student teachers. I was part of the panel along with current classroom teachers Dave Warneke, Casey Rutherford, and Katelyn Larson, and our task was to share strategies for implementing instructional technology in the classroom. Each of the panelists gave a 20-minute talk followed by questions, comments, and suggestions from the student teachers in the audience. There was a good exchange of ideas, and I think everyone, including the presenters, left with something new to explore further after the session. If you are interested in seeing this panel discussion, the podcast is available online.
For my presentation, I focused on the technologies that I find useful in organizing my work, communicating with others, planning and teaching my courses, and engaging in professional development. Most of these learning tools and many more can be found in the list of top 100 learning tools, which is an annual project by Jane Hart and posted on her blog.
